Appeal September 2002: Let's greet leader OB
Shigemitsu Shindo, Chairman of EMC Commitee
The adults, who had been completely made middle age now, have been put back somewhere in the heart the remembrance, only which filled pleasure in the babyhood, becoming the treasury as it shines still. We remember the days when we took away fish on the river without fearing ultraviolet rays under the sun blazing down; the days when we ran about in the fields giving queer cry to the weed which sticks into the body, and to the strange things which emits a horrible smell. Above all, fresh air in the camp life in the nature seems to revive.
For me, the camp life became opportunity of the important growth at the same time. I could learn human relations importance naturally in the boundaries from the infant to the boy; from the boy to the young man; from the young man to the adult.
There, surely, we learn the technology and the sense when sending the outdoors life: light fire with one match; cook rice with the canteen without the failure.
However, there is a valuable experience more than it: the persons who don't know each other have opportunity in whitch the self and the other person associate deeply by sharing the time which is never short. (To tell the truth, the starting point of my own NGO activity, too, is there.)
Therefore, we hope to continue relation to YMCA to all who played an active part there as the camp leader. (EMC) We charge there with the prayer: they should not make this experience be buried as one page of the short youth; they should utilize it in the pace of future society.
