Appeal February 2003: What I think in the TOF emphasis month

Kenzo Sato, Chairman of Club Service Commitee
We find, at a lot of parts of the New Testament, states that the difference between the poor person and the rich person was very serious in Palestina when the Jesus lived. The Sermon on the Mount: the poor person is happy; the starved person is happy. The simile of the Last Judgment: the attitude which we took to the starved person, the naked person is denounced. These parts shows that there were such people in imminently. Under the occupation of Rome, the difference of the poverty and wealth between the people in the class who cooperated with the economy development by King Herod and their servant seems to have been a quite terrible state. The lection of today's bulletin is the direction of Jesus, who made 12 apostles go to the mission. This was the policy of Jesus. To do a budget travel depending on the handout of the people seems the most suitable way, to partake of the love of God, in the place where there are a lot of poor people. The famous sentence: "we can not serve both God and wealth" would come out from this living actual state.
All the Y's men in the world execute TOF (time of fast) regular meeting in February. Then, the international TOF subject in 2002 "building up the future of the people" changes to "building up the peaceful future" in 2003 to execute it. The contribution to peace concerns deeply our life, our way to handle wealth.
