Report of Regular Meeting March 2003
Naomi Tanaka, Secretary of Tokyo Y's Menettes Club
The regular meeting in March was "Menettes Night". We had the last Menettes Night at the Kanda hall; as our guest speaker, we invited Ms. Michiko Hibino, health counselor, origin menette of the Tokyo Club. The seniors of the Tokyo Club and a lot of Y's men and Y's menettes of each club around Tokyo were attended.
Because there were too many attendees, we could not house them in the usual meeting place. Therefore, we did a regular meeting at the room No. 201.
The meeting was presided by Ms. Tsuyuzaki and proceeded with the opening chime of Ms. Nakatomi, President of Tokyo Y's Menettes Club, and the reading of the Bible and the prayer of Ms. Matsumoto.
[Happy Birthday(the 2nd person from the right is Ms. Hibino)]
Ms. Hibino made a speech: "Live now". She talked with the abundant humor: "I always faced the death of persons as a nurse. Don't forget the advanced posture to find a small pleasure in the hard state. Let's live doing the best actively with our whole body and soul in each time."
In the present filled with the anxiety that a war seems to break out soon, especially, our heart was affected deeply by the prayer of St Francis of Assisi, which she quoted in her speech: "Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me bring love. Where there is injury, let me bring pardon. Where there is discord, let me bring union. Where there is doubt, let me bring faith. Where there is error, let me bring truth. Where there is despair, let me bring hope. Where there is sadness, let me bring joy. Where there is darkness, let me bring light. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love."
In the regular meeting, we presented the YMCA with 40,000 yen of least coins. We got a profit of 23,350 yen in the mini bazaar before regular meeting. We appreciate everybody's cooperation.
I add that, eating the handemade rice cake rolled with salted cherry leaf of Ms. Tsuyuzaki, we heard continuously the voice of attendees: to be glad about the reunion each other; to miss and regret the hall of Kanda.
