Appeal October 2003: The international association is the starting point of the Y's men.

Jiro Mochida, Chairman of IBC Committee
Our Tokyo Club concluded the IBC contracts with 1. Bendigo (Australia) 2. Hongkong (China) 3. Kilpauk (India) 4. Seoul (Korea) 5. Taipei-Alpha (Taiwan) 6. Hilo (Hawaii). Also, we strengthen the intercourse with the Kyoto-Capital Club as DBC.
In 73 years of the history of the Tokyo club, our seniors didn't concentrate only on the club activity; standing on the international view, they strengthened the intercourse with the foreign countries widely. As for this activity, we have played the core role in Japan. Meanwhile, we sent a lot of children to the foreign countries; we practiced the homestay of a lot of friends and children of the foreign countries. We appreciate that we could understand mutually and strengthen the intercourse, crossing the border between the foreign countries and Japan. Today, we have the clubs with which we are associating lively and the clubs with which we are associating hardly. I assume that this is an unavoidable thing made by the trend of time.
Recently, we associate with the Hilo Club in Hawaii most extensively; last year and this year we visite mutually and strengthen the intercourse. With our DBC, the Kyoto-Capital Club, a lot of members visit alternately every year; in the schedule of overnight stay, we do a combined regular meeting and a friendship meeting with them. In April 24-25th, 2004, there is a 20th commemoration meeting in the Kyoto-Capital Club, where the multitude of us plans to participate.
In this way, while we associate with the people except the club members: the IBC also the DBC, we get the rare opportunity to improve our quality as Y's men and to work on a wide view. I expect that we increasingly interchange more in the future.
