Report of Regular Meeting June 2004

The regular meeting of June was begun, presided by Mr. Hitomi at the appointed time. The President Mr. Tanaka cracked the opening chime of the last regular meeting of this term; all of attendant members sang the Y's Song and advocated the Y's principles. Mr. Matsuda read the Bible, appreciated our good result of this year gotten for the YMCA and the Y's Men's Clubs directed by the President Mr. Tanaka and prayed the guide of Lord.
The President introduced guests and visitors. Member news, report of the committee and the YMCA: the President reported the 7th Regional Convention of the Japan-East Region; Mr. Kuroiwa explained an revision of the club rules and riders; it was approved by the clapping of all the members; Mr. Yoshioka reported his participation to the Regional Convention of the Hawaii Region of the US Area in Las Vegas on May 20th - 23th with Ms. Yoshioka; Mr. Haga, secretary of the Tokyo YMCA reported: this year, five leaders send to Frost Valley were chosen; the 25th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony of the Tokyo - Frost Valley partnership is done on October 14th - 16th 2005 in Frost Valley; the secretary general and the trustee of the Frost Valley YMCA visit Japan in March 2005. As thanks of the contribution to the Mandi with the regular meeting on last month, Mandi's original postcards were presented to all the members.

Ms. Matsuko Kobayashi, whose husband Mr. Kiyokuni Kobayashi died in May, appreciated our condolence call; she contributed to the Tokyo Y's Men's Club Fund. Ms. Shigemi Sato announced the establishment general meeting of the Atsugi Y's Men's Club on June 23th in the Atsugi YMCA. Ms. Tanaka, President of the Tokyo Y's Menettes Club, requested our cooperation to present one thousand folded paper cranes to the Sendai-Aoba Castle Y's Men's Club. We sang "Daily Bread". We took abundant dinner.
The guest speech: Ms. Keiko Oishi, painter of China ink whom Ms. Michiko Matsumoto introduced, made a speech entitled "the Discovery of the mercy of God". She said first: "the most important thing is encounter with God." She touched words of God when she was 20 years old having an anguish. Her determination sprouted up. Her belief deepened in prayers of early morning. 11 years before in spring, she saw Lord standing near; she drawed a picture in his mercy. This work is elected in the world peace prize as excellent work. She appreciates her belief in which she continues to draw pictures of China ink. The biggest distress in life is to find no purpose. She appreciates that she found the true meaning of life knowing God. She feels the mercy of God. She continue to praise the beauty of the nature, the beauty of the life and the beauty of the love. She showed a certification and appreciation.
The President Mr. Tanaka looked back to this one year; he appreciated the result of each business committee and the activity of the member thickly. Next, Mr. Yamamoto, President elected, said: "The President Mr. Tanaka firmed the basis of the Tokyo Club tightly in this terrible time. I take it over." Behind the Bangladesh Fund and the smile fine, we sang the song of YMCA and we closed the meeting with the closing chime of the President Mr. Tanaka.
