Appeal July 2004: What I think when the new year starts.
Kano Yamamoto, President
As President of the Tokyo Club, I stand on the starting point. I feel my responsibility heavy once more. I respect our good tradition and assets which we have built. At the same time, I wish to make an effort to activate the Tokyo Club with a new mind, even if it is a few.
The environment which surrounds the Tokyo Club is severe: the closure of the Kanda Hall, where we have frequented for many years, compelled us to change the meeting place of our regular meeting; the members are aging. I take over the basic policy of Mr. Hiroyuki Tanaka, previous President: let's return to the starting point of the Y's Men's Clubs, considering our tradition at the time of challenge; let's support the activities of the YMCA through our service activities; let's make a fine club. I wish to proceed to these steady.
Let's strengthen the CS business which was a goal of the previous year. Let's enrich the wide learning. Let's activate our regular meeting and directorate. Promoting these, I want to develop the club activity, which will be charming for young persons and new members. Therefore, the members of the Tokyo Club must have a aggressive mind. Let's show each personality without sense of duty. Let's practice the mind to love neighbors. Let's tell around the pleasure of services.
I use the frame to manage the Y's organization. I wish the cooperation of members to enrich and enjoy our services, friendship and club life.
