Report of Regular Meeting August 2004
I. Bird-watching
Tsuyoshi Hosokawa, Chairman of CS-Wellness Committee
We changed the meeting place to the Minami-Giyotoku station, because, the previous day, we saw the weather forecast: "Tomorrow, with the influence of the typhoon number 16, it will rain heavily." Riding the car of the members who came with the car, we headed for the hangar of observation of wildfowls in Giyotoku.
In the hangar of observation, Ms. Junko Hasuo who concerns it from its establishment talked about the history, the act of man, the geography and the environment in this protection ward. We learned much about the necessity and difficulty of the maintenance of the protection ward in the downtown place. We walked on the green tract of land, visited the protection ward and returned to the hangar of observation. We observed wildfowls respectively with the well maintained telescope of equipment pleasantly.
Next, quiz about the wildfowls. Though the problems were difficult, 3 members got the maximum point of tie score. They played a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide their ranking: 1st: Ms. Yamamoto, 2nd: Ms. Okamoto (Y'sling of Mr. Yoshioka), 3rd: Mr. Tanaka. By the way, the forecast of the heavy rain failed. We didn't open our umbrella under the rainy clouds. We passed the day which was extremely suited to the outdoors activity. After taking a set photograph, we moved to the "Kamo-en", restaurant of duck cuisine, which means "duck garden".
