Appeal March 2005: Let's ask the old to know the new
Masako Yamamoto, President of the Tokyo Y's Menettes Club
I remember that I read interestingly the article written by Ms. Masae Tsuyuzaki: "The History of the Y's Menettes Clubs" on the issue March 2004 of the bulletin of the Tokyo Y's Menettes Club.
The mind of the senior menettes, who worked vividly voluntarily helping their husband, Y's men, in the Japan's revival period from the prewar days to the postwar days, seems to teach me the important things. They expanded their activity and association with their feminine fineness and endurance without being excited in the new activity, menettes club. I feel their intention big.
Now, we women work in various fields. We are in the time when the number of the women who have occupation is bigger. Housewives have the opportunity to participate in the society actively variously. Now, I want to think, standing in the starting point, what activity this state expects in the Y's Menettes Clubs.
The Tokyo Y's Menettes Club began to cheer several schools a little from last year. The speaker of this month is Mr. Tasaka, headmaster of the Asian Rural Institute, one of those schools. They have passed 30 years with their magnificent conception: they risk their dream to the future of the world; they train up leaders in the farm villages in Asia and Africa. I ask for the increase of the people who share their dream and cheer them.
