Report of Regular Meeting July 2005

The first regular meeting of this fiscal year "Kickoff Night" started 18.30 July 12nd at the Toyocho Center of the Tokyo YMCA by the opening chime of the new President Mr. Matsuda with many attendees, 61 persons including guests and the visitors. We moved to the new fiscal year. The appointment ceremony of new executives was presided by Mr. Takao Asami, RD of the Japan-East Region. The new President stated his plan of the new fiscal year with his determination: "The Tokyo Club has reached a new phase of 75th anniversary. I will do 75th challenge this fiscal year for a further development." He requested the members to cooperate him.
Next, the sign up ceremony of Ms. Noriko Sugimoto and Mr. Kenjiro Hayashi was solemnly held. Today, Mr. Matsumoto, DG of the Toshin District, visited the Tokyo Club officially. He talked about his policy of DG and the plan of activity of the Toshin District. He emphasized the reinforcement of membership and the participation to the Convention of the Toshin District specifically.

Ms. Rika Oki, our guest speaker, chief secretary of the Member Department of the Tokyo YMCA made a speech titled by "Figure of cooperation of the YMCA and the Y's Mens' Clubs standing as bearer of the welfare society". She talked on her valuable experience: she practiced the volunteer for the aged people care in the Machida Center of the Tokyo YMCA. It seems to be a new try of the YMCA. She said: "The YMCA has a role as well as the upbringing of the young persons. It is the integration of support groups for aged people, because of the welfare improvement for the aged people. It is difficult, but the society looks forward to it. The YMCA and the Y's Men's Clubs must advance to this field to support the old-ization society in the future." All the members were greatly edified. The regular meeting of July which starts the new fiscal year progressed without delay according to the program and ended at the schedule time. Incidentally, after the regular meeting, we did a friendship meeting in the Italian-Bower near the meeting place. 28 members participated it. Surrounding the new signing up members, we celebrated their signing up harmoniously.
