Report of Regular Meeting March 2006

Date and time: 18:30-20:45 on March 14th(Tuesday) Meeting place: seeing and hearing room of the Tokyo YMCA Toyocho Center The regular meeting of March was the Menettes Night. A flower of the sweet pea decorated on each table created an atmosphere like spring. Ms. Tsuyuzaki's homemade rice cakes wrapped by cherry leaf, acquaintance of Menettes Night, were distributed on it. The regular meeting, presided by Ms. Michiko Matsumoto, began with the opening chime of Ms. Matsuda, President of the Y's Menettes Club of Tokyo. After Y's song, reading of Bible and prayer of Ms. Isoda, introduction of guests and visitors by Ms. Matsuda, Ms. Masae Aoki, chairman of the Y's Menettes Committee of the Japan-East Region, and Mr. Takao Asami, RD of the Japan-East Region, greeted. Mr. Yoshioka reported the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony of the Tokyo Club, and showed the remembrances donated by each club. After report of each committee and the YMCA, the meeting progressed: Y's dinner(sushi made by Hachiku, long-established store of Osaka-Sushi in Tokyo), Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary.

The guest speaker was Ms. Mitsuru Chino, manager of the second team in the judicial affair part of Itochu Corporation Ltd., docent of the graduate school of the Keio University and docent of the graduate school of the Hitotsubashi University. The title of speech is "the expectations to further social participation of women". She told about the consciousness and the problem of women in Japan on the global viewpoint. She said: "The power of each woman is small. But avoid to do nothing. First, think what you can do now. Execute it, a little. It leads to a big power. Then, everybody's consciousness rises." We have a successful meeting, with many guests, visitors and youth. After the regular meeting, we held a feast to encourage Mr. Sato who would leave for South America as BF representative of full grant.
