Report of Regular Meeting October 2006
Hiroshi Nagasawa, Secretary
As the regular meeting of October, we had a combined regular meeting with the Tokyo-Mukade Club. With the opening chime, the President Mr. Chino greeted: "This regular meeting has three pieces of big pleasure: combined regular meeting, new member, speech of Mr. Nishihata." Guests and visitors of the both clubs were introduced. After that, the sign-up ceremony of Mr. Yoshikazu Sakogawa was solemnly done. Mr. Oyama, inspector of the Japan-East Region and the Toshin District, Mr. Hasegawa, DG of the Toshin District and Mr. Tsujimura, inspector of the Tokyo Club attended it. Mr. Sakogawa pledged his sign-up forcefully.

Report and appeal: Ms. Okitsu, secretary of the Tokyo YMCA, reported the National Peace Leadership Program (November 10th - 12th, by the Rokko-san YMCA). Mr. Itami, member of the Tokyo-Mukade Club, appealed for the monthly emphasis of the Japan-East Region. After the dinner, Mr. Yamanaka, member of the Tokyo Club, and Mr. Ayama, member of the Tokyo-Mukade Club, introduced the activity of the IBC and DBC. The long history of the international association of the Tokyo Club, who began with the Rochester Club in 1964, was impressive.
The guest speech was the "Various Experiences of a Consul" by Mr. Kuniteru Nishihata who held the consul of every country in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was an extremely interesting speech. Specifically, when he was the consul of Mumbai in India, he sneaked in the base of a new religion. Also, he took out the relics of a suicide. His activities who injured our common sense destroyed our stereotype image of the consul of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Incidentally, his activities are published as "A Honest Consul's Case Notebook of Tears and Laughter" from the publisher Bungei in December. Please read it.
The smile was 43,440 yen all together in both clubs. We sacrificed it to the Tokyo YMCA International Cooperation Fund.
