Report of Regular Meeting November 2006

Hiroshi Nagasawa, Secretary
We had a successful regular meeting in November with a lot of Youth participants. The total of attendees was 81. The audio-visual room of the Tokyo YMCA, our usual meeting place, was too narrow. We moved to the Well-B. We had a potluck dinner as our established custom of November. Ms. Isoda, President of the Tokyo Menettes Club, greeted: "Enjoy sufficiently!" It was the wonderful treat which the menettes made cordially. All of the participants were satisfied greatly.

The guest speaker was Ms. Hiroko Sayama, Youth delegate of the Japan-East Region, representative of the Tokyo Y's Youth Club, student of the International Christian University. Under the title "Youth of the World and Youth of Japan", she reported mainly about the International Youth Convocation held in Pusan, city of Korea, from July 31th to August 6th this year. She said: "150 Youth attendees discussed, under the thema "Reconsideration of the Y's men and the YMCA activities", what Youth can do for the realization of the peace. We considered what is the peace and we defined it "the world where there is no pain". It was impressive for me. We'll conquer the difficulty of communication and the big difference of culture. We'll try to tell what we think and to understand each other. This process must arrive one day at the peace." Her youthful conclusion gave me a good impression.
After that, report and powerful appeal of each Youth group's representative: Y's Youth Club Yokohama-Y3, leaders of the Frost-Valley Camp, Clover of the YMCA of the Nippon University, Chhoto-Shawpno("small dream" in Bengalee, a group who supports the Bangladesh YMCA), MANDi("human, we" in the language of Garo tribe, a group who supports the Dhahapara Clinic of Bangladesh in the Tokyo YMCA), YMCA of the Tokyo University, YMCA of the Hitotsubashi University, Yamate Dormitory, Y3-Utsunomiya, Y3-East. After regular meeting, Youth had a time of friendship.
