Appeal February 2007: CS, YMCA and Youth

Yukihiko Shoji, vice-chairman of the CS Committee

The article "The 7th flood shelter was completed in Bangladesh" was carried on the "Tokyo Young Men" (organization magazine of the Tokyo YMCA). It means the flood shelter which the Tokyo YMCA built cooperating with the Bangladesh YMCA.
Besides, the Tokyo YMCA develops the various activities in Bangladesh since 1990: the education for the illiterate adults, the scholarship fund, the Mandi("human, we" in the language of Garo tribe, support group for the Dhahapara clinic), the Chhoto-Shawpno("small dream" in Bengalee, support group for the Bangladesh YMCA). These activities show a practical effect steadily after repeated trial and error.
The Tokyo Club requires us to get a membership of the YMCA. The "Tokyo Young Men" says that the Y's men are concerned with its several activities. We can concern it if we wish, though generally it is difficult to concern such a thing in life. In other words, it is not exaggerated to say that the CS activity is the service for the YMCA.
Efforts for the poverty and the HIV/AIDS were added to these activities recently. The support for the Frost-Valley YMCA, the Edo Castle Family Walk and the Charity-Run which we continue for many years make us feel an expanse of our activity from Kanda to Tokyo area and the whole world. We look forward to a continuous development of the wonderful activities of Youth which contain a practical work as the Mandi or the Chhoto-Shawpno. We wish to support them.
