Report of Regular Meeting April 2007

All the members except one attended to the regular meeting of April. The percentages of attendance was 97 percent. It was out of expectation. It was a glad miscalculation. There were not enough seats in the meeting place. We carried them in suddenly. I am satisfied with this successful meeting, but as secretary, I have a ardent request: "Please answer to me your attendance until the date beforehand."
We celebrated the Happy Birthday of 4 menettes and the Happy Anniversay of Mr. & Ms. Matsuda(43th) and Mr. & Ms. Ryozo Matsumoto(46th).

The guest speaker was Mr. Tatsuo Homma who worked as secretary in the YMCA for many years. The title was "I was resuscitated by the YMCA". He told the extremely interesting episodes: "When I was a pupil of the old system junior high school, I was bullied. Therefore I wanted to become strong. I established a boxing club in high school. I began boxing. When I rose to the ring for the first time, I was affected. However, I was knocked out in the 3rd round. I entered a university for the boxing. I worked as practice partner of Flash Elorde. I was suggested to become professional boxer." Then he said: "My life changed when I saw Mr. Soichi Saito. He suggested me to work in the YMCA. I went to the Kobe YMCA. I started there my YMCA life. And when I saw Mr. Kiyuuma Shiraishi like the patron of YMCA, when I saw Mr. Nakamura, one-armed yachtsman, when I saw Mr. Imanaka, camp leader, they had an influence on me: I acquired the mind of YMCA to serve the other person." Mr. Homma left an impressive phrase: "The encounter with the person gave me a vigor."
