Appeal May 2007: Construction of a network of heart and action
Kano Yamamoto, chairman of the Y-Service Committee
The Y's principles say "1. Let's love your neighbors as yourself. 2. Let's serve the YMCA for the young people. 3. Let's have a worldwide view and plot an international friendship." The Y's men's club is the group which does service activities, approving of the mind of love and peace of Jesus Christ which the YMCA has in this way and asking for the healthy upbringing of the young people in mind and body.
The Tokyo Club does various activities having this thing in mind. We make efforts not to forget this mind when we manage a regular meeting of every month, choice a guest speaker and plan all the annual activities. This year, we set the goal of the Y-Service business in the participation and the support to the business which the Tokyo YMCA does, the support to Youth who shoulders the YMCA tomorrow and the abundance of guest speaker at the regular meeting in cooperation with the other committees. We make efforts to spread pleasant and meaningful activities and make a network for the Tokyo Club, the YMCA and the Youth.
I think that we could share a good consciousness of problems about the poorness of the world, the AIDS problem, the education problem of tomorrow and the international partnership of the YMCA. I want to build a network of heart and action without forgetting the starting point in future.
