[Speech of Mr. Shiratori]
Guest speech was done, titled: "I live in Vanuatu, the happiest country in the world", by Mr. Sadao Shiratori who was sent to the Republic of Vanuatu for two years as senior volunteer. It was the very interesting story about the country which we cannot readily observe. At the same time, it was the significant story which let us think what is the civilization, and what is the happiness of the person. Beginning, he introduced himself showing a photograph of himself and a man of Vanuatu who dresses fully. We were surprised by his full dress with one penis case only. Mr. Shiratori did very interesting introductions about their life like the Jomon period, their traditional event Naghol, origin of Bungee Jumping, and their religion (80% of nation is Christian). Even if they say anything, the characteristic of this country is that their degree of happiness is highest of the world, according to the announcement of the NEF, British think tank. Vanuatu, whose national income has only several percent of the developed nations, occupies the first place; Japan, proud of the richness, occupies 95th and USA 150th. This reality is thought-provoking.
Finaly, the guests speaked one word. The regular meeting of February "CS - TOF Night" was closed. We moved the meeting place in WELL-B and a reception of Mr. Oikawa was held sequentially.
